I started my herd with registered Nigerian Goats from top breeders that were negative for TB, CAE (Caprine Arthritis Encephaitis), and CL (Caseous Lymphadenitis - abscesses).  Here at Hidden Maples we want to improve each generation of Nigerian Dwarf Goats with healthy, friendly, registered dairy goats for home milk production,  show, and environmentally green animals/pets.

We have decided to raise our animals as naturally as possible.  Goats are loving, caring, intelligent animals; I do not believe only bottle raised kids can be friendly. So we allow our mother to be mothers and we are surrogate parents always around giving love and compassion, thus reducing any stress of separation too early.  Just as with people stress is a contributor to disease, thus being in an loving, natural environment the body can ward off illness on its own.  Not to say if need be, we will use the technology of the 21st century to aid in a healthy goat/kid.

Our goats are AGS registered, and kids will come with AGS registration forms.  Adults come with their certificate of registration and bill of sale.

Kids are disbudded, vaccinated, wormed, hoof-trimmed and tattooed before leaving to their new homes.  Included will be sample feed, to help in the transition. Available animals can be reserved with a $50.00 non-refundable deposit.  We have the right to retain any kid born on our farm even if a deposit has been place on that kid.  If this does happen your deposit will be place on your 2nd choice, if 2nd choice is not available, your deposit will be refunded. Transportation, shipping, and health checks are the responsibility of the buyer.  Payment type accepted include: money order, cash or check (checks must clear before animal leaves).  Cash only at pick up.

We will periodically test for CAE, and now will be vaccinating against CL.  Our animals are on a strict schedule of worming, vaccinations, minerals, & supplements and are fed a quality hay blend, grain, free range pasture (in season), and fresh water daily. In other words, we will only sell healthy animals! We will guarantee the health of your goat for a period of 7 days from the time of pick-up.  If your animal shows any signs of stress/illness in this time period, contact us immediately and return the animal to us and we'll refund your purchase price or provide you with another animal; if available.  If you have a vet call instead of contacting us, we will not be responsible for any vet bills you incur.  We do not guarantee the health after 7 days because of the health performance of your animal is based on the care and feeding it gets from you and the environment in which it is kept; we have no control over this once an animal leaves our farm.

New owners need to educate themselves on the care, feeding and management of your animal prior to bringing it home.  We will do our best to answer any questions that you may have and to provide advice and guidance anytime you need it.  If we do not know the answer, we can connect you with resources/person that does.

Because goats are a social animal being kept alone will produce an unhealthy, stressed, lonely and unthrifty animal.  We recommend at least 2 goats to avoid any stress to your new animal.  We will give a discount on a whether as a companion goat.
